About the Exhibition and Submission Guidelines

The East-South East Asia Art Exchange 2024 Media X Space: Across Asia Exhibition seeks to bridge the rich artistic traditions of East and South East Asia countries, providing a platform for artists to showcase their unique perspectives and creative expressions. Through this exchange, we aim to promote understanding, collaboration, and appreciation of cultural diversity.

2024 Media X Space: Across Asia invites artists from across the region to submit their work that explores the multifaceted tapestry of Asian experiences. We seek artworks that delve into history, myth, ecology, and the complexities of contemporary life, challenging conventional perspectives and fostering dialogue.
We are particularly interested in works that engage with the sub-themes of hybrids, post-pandemic realities, historical reinterpretation, and the evolving Asian identity.

 

• History and Memory: Contemplating on Asia’s complex history, colonial legacies, and postcolonial narration, pursuing matters like memory, trauma, similarity, and resilience.
• Myths and Oral Literature: Wandering the mythology, folklore, and legends of the East and Southeast Asia, displaying the region’s rich oral traditions and storytelling heritage.
• Ecological Thinking: Promoting awareness and conservation efforts in Southeast Asia’s diverse ecosystems.
