BANG-YAO LIU
Bang-Yao Liu is an Assistant Professor in Department of Communications Design, Shih-Chien University, Taipei, Taiwan (SCCD), teaching Fundamental Design (freshment) and Integrated 3D Animation Design (senior year) course since 2014. He got an M.F.A. degree from Taipei National University of the Arts Department of New Media Arts Taiwan.
Bang-Yao Liu is an award-wining director/ artist based in Taipei. In 2009, he studied at Savannah College of Art and Design and his school project “Deadline Post-it Stop Motion” won the Golden prize of 89th New York ADC Award, and also selected by 37th Annual Student Academy Awards, the Top 10 Viral-Video of The Year by Time Magazine, 25th Interfilm Berlin and Japan Media Art Festival etc.
In 2018, his SKODA car commercial film won the ‘Bronze Lion’ in Cannes Media Lions and ‘Best of the Best’ of Red Dot Design Award. In addition, his short film was screened at Tokyo SSFF & Asia 2018, Taipei Film Festival 2019 and Kaohsiung Film Festival 2017, and he is also the film director of ‘No Pets Allowed’ which is released on Netflix as episode 4 of the anthology series ‘Till Death Do Us Part’.
