The position of the coast of Bantul Beach is directly opposite the location of the earthquake trigger. Historically, there has been a tsunami as high as 30 meters due to an earthquake caused by the movement of 3 plates of the earth located in the Indian Ocean south of Yogyakarta. When two earthquakes occurred in early August 2019, many coastal communities in the Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) did not know what to do, whether to evacuate to higher ground or to stay put. This is due to the lack of education for the people of the southern coast of DIY. The design of educational media for tsunami response videos by utilizing local wisdom in collaboration with BMKG disaster mitigation for the southern coastal community of DIY with a case study of the Bantul Baru Beach community is expected to be a solution to remind and educate the community in the event of an earthquake.
