A new animated short film ‘Shadow’ was created by Benjamin Ong Yeing Lun and supervised by Foo Yi Chyuan. It underlines how glorifying suicide and self harm known as mental health issues in Malaysia and will emphasis on analyzing the issues with relatable characters in animation that are able to overcome psychological problems effectively. It can provide both encouragement and a starting point for difficult conversations in some media. This short animation film is to acknowledge the majority of the people who lacks understanding of the reality behind mental health problems such as glorifying suicide, stigma and suicidal thoughts. It portrays humanistic behavior with exaggerated broken proportions of body parts and facial expressions such as bulky heads and tiny bodies with darker color tones with the surrounding environment.
