Started as an inquiry about the need for physical closeness, multidisciplinary artist Elghandiva Astrilia attempts to offer a peculiar narrative on duality, intimacy, and union through this exploration. Collaborating with motion designer H.D. Aprilia, one of the angles this animation touches on is the phenomenon of human connectivity in the digital age and its similarity with spirituality. As we find ourselves in a situation where the physical body needs to be somewhat confined, we see a universal intimacy and kinship within the binary terrain through tools such as computers with internet connection and electricity. Again, entangled within the binary and dualities of life. Without duality, there is no creation. It is only because of these opposites that something happened. But to be trapped within the duality is the problem. This work seeks to investigate beyond duality. The significance of colour in this animation refers to the yogic system of chakras. Blue, indigo and violet are recognized as the throat, third eye and crown chakra. These chakras represent the highest spiritual links or mental faculties of human beings. Similarly, within our visual culture, we see the spectrums of blue within the digital sector, which communicates comparable notions. The initial sketch, concept, soundtrack and spoken words are created by Elghandiva Astrilia (D6157), then visually composed and animated by Hervina Dyah Aprilia (D6125)
