Media x Space: Beyond Illumination — Light, Digitality, and Consciousness

This exhibition extends the Jakarta exhibition’s exploration of light as knowledge, transformation, and energy into the digital realm. This Kuala Lumpur edition brings together digital and interactive artworks by emerging artists from Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea, and the United Kingdom, examining how technology redefines perception, materiality, and human experience in a mediated world.

Here, light merges with the digital—it no longer exists merely as a visual or physical phenomenon, but as a carrier of data, memory, and consciousness. Through animation, video, projection mapping, VR, and live audiovisual performance, the artists explore illumination as both a technological phenomenon and a philosophical inquiry. Their works question how digital technology mediates reality and emotion, revealing light as a bridge between the tangible and the virtual.

As Media x Space travels from Jakarta to Kuala Lumpur, it evolves into a reflective platform where art and technology converge. The exhibition highlights Southeast Asia’s emerging generation of artists who transform light into a language of connection—linking cultures, disciplines, and digital futures.
